THE RIGHT BATTERY POWER

FOR ALL YOUR APPLICATIONS
We maintain constant communication with you when we create our cordless products. You have the best knowledge of exactly what is needed for specific applications. This means that we can learn from your experience every day – and apply it to tools that are as robust and durable as possible, and provide you with just as much battery power as your work requires. What's more, all this comes in the usual Festool quality.

The Festool story 1925-2025.

People - Machines - Milestones.

Our history is the story of both a family and a company, brimful of drive and inventiveness. It is a story of success, and would never have been possible without our deep passion for craftsmanship. Making your everyday work easier, more productive and safer with our tools has always been our promise, right from our foundation in 1925. And we’ll continue to keep it as we move into the future.
1925
Despite the political instability and economic turmoil of the 1920s, Albert Fezer and Gottlieb Stoll founded their company in 1925. Driven by a strong desire for independence and a pioneering spirit, they launched their venture during a time of significant financial uncertainty.
1938
Festo’s product range and demand were rapidly growing, leading to production capacity being reached at the Esslingen headquarters. To accommodate further growth, a new, larger, and more modern facility was developed on Ulmer Straße, providing ideal conditions for expansion.
1951
Festool, formerly Festo, pioneered portable circular saws with adjustable cutting depths and mitre angles, making them more compact and convenient. The AAU 50 Sägehexe enabled precise, safe work for carpenters, and its successor, the AU 65, became essential for post-war woodworkers.
1951
The Rutscher orbital sander, introduced in 1951 by Festool (formerly Festo), revolutionized sanding by replacing time-consuming hand-sanding. It became a key tool for various trades, with 250,000 units sold by the 1960s, and is now available as a compact cordless version.
1979
In 1979, Festool introduced the ROTEX RO 1, a groundbreaking sander that combined three tools in one, revolutionizing surface finishing. Its versatility from coarse sanding to polishing made it a favorite among craftsmen, evolving into a legendary tool.
1984
Launched in the 1980s, the OF 1 router by Festool set new standards for precision in woodworking and joinery. It marked the start of a versatile system that now includes multiple machines, router bits, and templates for precise edge work and profiling.
2000
In 2000, Festool GmbH moved to Wendlingen, continuing its legacy of pragmatism and quality with the "Made in Germany" label. The company focuses on developing innovative, user-oriented tools and systems that are robust and long-lasting.
2006
Introduced in 2006, DOMINO quickly became a unique joining system, combining the stability of traditional joints with the precision of dowels. It simplifies milling and dowel insertion, offering enhanced accuracy and impressive stability in woodwork.
2014
In 2014, Festool introduced the CONTURO KA 65 edge bander, a portable tool that ensures perfect edging for various materials like wood, plastic, and melamine. Its unique glue application system allows precise, high-quality results even on sloped, round, and curved edges.
2023
The CSC SYS 50 cordless table saw, designed to fit in a Systainer, embodies Festool's principle of bringing the tool to the workpiece. It is the first portable table saw with digital height and angle adjustments, offering precise cutting with the accuracy of a stationary saw, making it ideal for on-site work.

The future of Festool.

Ready to grow sustainably.

Sustainability is an issue that affects the future but also poses particular challenges for the present. It not only involves ecological factors, but also healthy business management and socially responsible conduct. The new Festool plant in Weilheim has all this covered: it is a commitment to the region where the company has had deep roots for 100 years. The factory is designed to manufacture our products energy-efficiently without wasting resources, while meeting the highest requirements – proving that Festool still has its sights firmly on the future, even 100 years after its foundation.
